Ultumus-ETF DNA-US ETF Market Summary September 2017
October 3, 2017--September 2017 saw net inflows of US$ 28.6 Bn.
At the end of September 2017 there were 2,029 ETFs domiciled in the US with assets of $ 3,123 Bn from 81 product issuers and 124 index providers.
Assets increased by $71.5 Bn (or 2.3%) in September, with net inflows of $ 28.6 Bn.
iShares saw the largest net inflows for the month with $16.9 Bn, followed by Vanguard with $9.4 Bn and Schwab with $1.8 Bn, while State Street's SPDRs range experienced the largest net outflows of $2.2 Bn.
ETFs tracking FTSE Russell indices saw the largest net inflows for the month with $7.5 Bn, followed by Bloomberg based indices with $5.3 Bn and ICE with $3.5 Bn, while S&P Dow Jones based products experienced the largest net outflows of $1.5 Bn.

AdvisorShares Announces ETF Closures
October 3, 2017--AdvisorShares, a leading sponsor of actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETFs), announced today that the AdvisorShares Gartman Gold/Euro ETF (NYSE Arca: GEUR) and the AdvisorShares Gartman Gold/Yen ETF (NYSE Arca: GYEN) will close. The AdvisorShares Board of Trustees approved the closings and subsequent liquidations of GEUR and GYEN.
The last day of trading for both funds will be October 13, 2017, which will also be the final day for creations or redemptions by authorized participants. The funds will cease operations, withdraw their assets, and distribute the remaining proceeds to shareholders on or after October 20, 2017.

Goldman Sachs to Explore Starting Bitcoin Trading Venture
October 2, 2017--Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is exploring how it could help clients trade bitcoin and other digital currencies, according to a person briefed on the plan.
The New York-based bank is in talks with cryptocurrency experts but hasn't yet formulated a business plan, a timetable for implementation or made any bitcoin-related investments, according to the person who asked not to be identified talking about internal deliberations.

October 2, 2017--Highlights of the Week Ending 9/29/2017
Macro
With the third quarter having ended, we'll start with a recap of equity prices. For the month of September the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 2.33%, the S&P 500 added 2.50%, the NASDAQ squeaked out 2.00% and the Russell 2000 rallied a strong 7.15%.
The Q3 numbers were also strong despite having taken August off, with the Dow up 4.94%, the S&P moved ahead 3.96%, the NASDAQ positive by 5.79% and the Russell 2000 was also strong, adding 5.33%. The year to date numbers came in at plus 13.36% for the Dow, 10.64% for the S&P, 20.67% for the NASDAQ and 9.03% for the Russell 2000.

AGF Changes Risk Rating of QuantShares Global Equity Rotation ETF
October 2, 2017--Effective today, AGF Investments Inc. ("AGF") (TSX:AGF.B) is changing the risk rating of QuantShares Global Equity Rotation ETF (the "QGL ETF") from "low-to-medium" to "medium".
This change results from compliance with the Canadian Securities Administrators' Mutual Fund Risk Classification Methodology, which became effective on September 1, 2017. Previously, AGF followed a risk classification methodology based on the approach recommended by The Investment Funds Institute of Canada.

IMF Working paper-The Adjustment to Commodity Price Shocks in Chile, Colombia, and Peru
September 29, 2017-- Summary:
This paper presents a comparative analysis of the macroeconomic adjustment in Chile, Colombia, and Peru to commodity terms-of-trade shocks. The study is done in two steps: (i) an analysis of the impulse responses of key macroeconomic variables to terms-of-trade shocks and (ii) an event study of the adjustment to the recent decline in commodity prices.
The experiences of these countries highlight the importance of flexible exchange rates to help with the adjustment to lower commodity prices, and staying vigilant in addressing depreciation pressures on inflation through tightening monetary policies. On the fiscal front, evidence shows that greater fiscal space, like in Chile and Peru, gives more room for accommodating terms-of-trade shocks.
