The number of U.S.-listed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) registered for sale in Japan has increased significantly over the past three years, underscoring a fundamental transformation in the country's retail investment landscape. Based on data collected from the websites of major Japanese brokerages as of May 4, 2026, total ETF availability across comparable platforms has grown by 47.7% since 2023, rising from 1,960 to 2,895 listings.
