Global X Funds Announces Index Change For Its MLP ETF
March 26, 2015--Global X Funds, the New York based provider of exchange traded funds (ETFs), has announced that after the close of trading on March 31, 2015, the Global X MLP ETF (NYSE Arca: MLPA) will begin tracking the Solactive MLP Infrastructure Index.
The Solactive MLP Infrastructure Index is intended to give investors a means of tracking the overall performance of United States midstream master limited partnerships (MLPs).

SEC Proposes Rule to Require Broker-Dealers Active in Off-Exchange Market to Become Members of National Securities Association
March 25, 2015--The Securities and Exchange Commission today proposed rule amendments to require that broker-dealers trading in off-exchange venues become members of a national securities association.
The amendments would enhance regulatory oversight of active proprietary trading firms, such as high frequency traders.
"This proposal embodies a simple but powerful principle of the federal securities laws-the protection of investors and the stability of our markets require that trading is overseen by both the Commission and a strong self-regulatory organization,” said SEC Chair Mary Jo White. "Today's proposed rules would close a regulatory gap by extending oversight to a significant portion of off-exchange trading."

'A vote of confidence': Nasdaq, NYSE take steps to embrace bitcoin
March 24, 2015--The biggest U.S. stock exchange operators are taking steps to embrace bitcoin, spurring speculation the digital currency is coming up from underground.
Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. revealed Tuesday that New York-based Noble Markets, a platform for trading bitcoin, has agreed to license Nasdaq’s X-stream technology.
