S&P Dow Jones Indices and MSCI Announce Revisions to the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS (R)) Structure in 2018
November 15, 2017--S&P Dow Jones Indices, a leading provider of financial market indices, and MSCI Inc., a leading provider of research-based indexes and analytics, announced today that as a result of their annual review of the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS(R)) structure, the Telecommunication Services Sector is being broadened and renamed as Communication Services to include companies that facilitate communication and offer related content and information through various media.
The renamed Sector will include the existing telecommunication companies, as well as companies selected from the Consumer Discretionary Sector currently classified under the Media Industry Group and the Internet & Direct Marketing Retail Sub-Industry, along with select companies currently classified in the Information Technology Sector.

Mexican bank Intercam and Brickblock discussing partnership to offer tokenized ETFs
November 14, 2017--Intercam Banco Founder and President Eduardo Garcia Lecuona has expressed interest in partnering with Brickblock, the first platform to combine cryptocurrencies and real-world assets on the blockchain, to expand his company's exchange-traded fund (ETF) offerings.
Eduardo Garcia Lecuona has been exploring ways to integrate Intercam's services with the crypto economy.

Horizons ETFs Launches an Innovative Canadian Equity Index ETF
November 14, 2017--New ETF offers an inventive way to screen for quality Canadian equities
Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. ("Horizons ETFs") is pleased to announce its partnership with Inovestor Inc. ("Inovestor") on the launch of the Horizons Inovestor Canadian Equity Index ETF ("INOC").
INOC is the first exchange traded fund ("ETF") in Canada to offer low-cost exposure to the Nasdaq Inovestor Canada Index ("the Index").
Units of the ETF will begin trading today on the Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX") under the ticker symbol INOC.

CME CEO: Bitcoin Futures Could Begin Trading As Soon As December
November 13, 2017--CME Group chairman and CEO Terry Duffy has said that the derivatives exchange operator could list a planned bitcoin futures product as early as next month.
"I think sometime in the second week of December you'll see our contract out for listing," he told CNBC today, hinting that trading could begin as early as the second week of December.

So tweeted @todd_harrison about what he saw on his monitor during the week as domestic equity markets were on their way to a negative five day run. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.49%, the S&P 500 gave up 21 basis points, the NASDAQ declined the same 21 basis points and the Russell 2000 slid 1.30%.
There were plenty of reasons cited for why equities might have declined including being at the how the sausage is made part of the tax reform legislation to the decline in high yield (more below on that) and if you scour your favorite social media feed you might find a few other reasons but sometimes, markets just go down for no real reason at all, they just do.
