May 3, 2016--Water scarcity, exacerbated by climate change, could cost some regions up to 6 percent of their GDP, spur migration, and spark conflict, according to a new World Bank report released today.*
High and Dry: Climate Change, Water and the Economy, says the combined effects of growing populations, rising incomes, and expanding cities will see demand for water rising exponentially, while supply becomes more erratic and uncertain.

Eurex trading statistics April 2016
Eurex Exchange: ADV 6.1 million contracts /ISE: ADV 2.3 million contracts
May 2, 2016--In April 2016, the international derivatives markets of Eurex, part of Deutsche Börse Group, recorded an average daily volume of 8.4 million contracts (April 2015: 8.3 million).
Of those, 6.1 million were Eurex Exchange contracts (April 2015: 5.9 million), and 2.3 million contracts (April 2015: 2.4 million) were traded at the New York based International Securities Exchange (ISE).

Investors may have profited from leaked U.S. data: ECB research paper
May 2, 2016--Investors earned millions of dollars in profits from correctly betting on market moves ahead of sensitive U.S. economic data, suggesting leaks of key indicators, a European Central Bank research paper said on Monday.
Studying moves in the case of 21 market-moving indicators between 2008 and 2014, 11 showed some pre-announcement price drift consistent with the announcement surprise, with seven of them indicating substantial moves, the authors said in the paper, which does not necessarily represent the ECB's opinion.

Australian Craig Wright claims to be Bitcoin creator
May 2, 2016--Australian entrepreneur Craig Wright has publicly identified himself as Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
His admission follows years of speculation about who came up with the original ideas underlying the digital cash system.
Mr Wright has provided technical proof to back up his claim using coins known to be owned by Bitcoin's creator.

OCC Cleared Contract Volume Increased Two Percent In April
Securities Lending Activity Up 46 Percent In April And 44 Percent Year-To-Date-ETF Options Volume Up 13 Percent From 2015
May 2, 2016--OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced today that cleared contract volume in April was 339,522,257 contracts, up two percent from April 2015 monthly volume of 331,552,965 contracts.
Average daily volume at OCC is up five percent in 2016 with 17,123,650 contracts. OCC's stock loan program reported strong volume numbers in April with year-to-date activity up 44 percent.

Yen logs 5% April gain vs. dollar with Fed, Bank of Japan on hold
April 29, 2016--The dollar tumbled to an 18-month low against the Japanese currency Friday after a widely watched gauge of inflation showed upward price pressures abated last month, removing some pressure for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates.
Initially the data included OECD member countries, but has recently expanded to include IOPS members to create a broader picture of private pensions.
